When it comes to beauty, the majority of people will tell you that hair is a significant component. So, you could assume that wearing a hat would hinder your overall look. But, in actual fact, something that covers your head can actually enhance your appearance, as well as serve more practical purposes. Nowadays, there is an endless variety of hats to choose from, so you’re bound to find one that suits you, no matter how introvert or extrovert your style is.
However, today I’m going to focus on providing you with four different hats to give you four different looks. They’re all going to be extremely popular pieces of headwear, and all of them could look amazing depending on the scenario. Anyway, here they are…
The wonderful thing about a fedora is the fact that it’s incredibly versatile. All you have to do is alter your clothing and footwear, and a fedora could look gorgeous in spring, summer, autumn or winter. For instance, if you harmonized one with a trench coat, jeans, and a jumper, it would work brilliantly in the lower temperatures. But, if you used one to top off a maxi dress and some sandals, you’d be well dressed for when the sun comes out.
I personally feel that when cadet caps are involved, it ultimately comes down to the hairstyle that you provide as to what look you’ll achieve. So, if you have long hair like me, then you could let it flow behind the ears. But, if you have shorter hair, then why not frizz it up and go for the covered-ears look?
However, it also depends on the weather, like with any hat. If you cover the ears and go for a large coat and some well-fitted jeans, then it would go nicely in the winter or spring. Alternatively, a light top and a skater skirt would work stylishly in the summer.
When it comes to those bitterly cold winter months, beanies are going to be the perfect option. Now, although you’re mainly going to be worrying about keeping your head warm, they can also complement the rest of your attire. I personally love the cashmere beanies from Everlane or Uniqlo. But, I also appreciate the stylish qualities that those colorful knitted ones or those with pom-poms can offer.
There are a few different ways to wear a beanie, but for women, I love the idea of pulling it partially over the ears and forehead and letting the hair flow freely out of it. This way, you can combine both style and functionality.
With the flat cap, you can be flexible with what you’re trying to go for. By this I mean, if you want to match it with your professional attire, then you could keep the cap forward and straight like you can see above. But, if you want to follow the trends and amp up your style at the weekend, then implement a slight tilt. For women, that’s usually to the left, but try to go with what direction your hair is naturally flowing.
I hope you’ve found this article useful, it would be great to know which hat you like most. Please leave a comment below!
