4 ways to wear black & white

Black jeans and white shirts never lose their appeal and with the correct set of accessories and a perfect combination of supremely comfortable shoes will make you look great.  Here we have brought you ideas for you to add variety to the basic look…..

1.You can never overdo with red:

That is exactly right. Your white shirt and black jeans can be paired with an exotic bright red coat. Red makes a perfect combination of both white and black. Supremely comfortable Edgy moto boots and a silver necklace will do the rest. A chic bun or a low bun with small earrings will complete the look.

2. Printed scarves are always an option:

Scarf

Wrap a nice warm cotton, silk or quilt knitted scarf around your neck over your white shirt and black jeans. Make sure you choose some bright colour to add spring look to your overall outfit. You can accessorize it with drop earrings whereas for footwear you can opt for dressy boots, riding boots or ankle boots to go with the look. Wear a hat and set all on fire!

3. Keep it dim:
Yes like that. Put on a puffer jacket over your white shirt and black jeans. Tie your hair in a high-and-sleek ponytail or messy-and-low ponytail. Put on riding boots and to add up a bit has small studs. That is it.  Hola! Look at you!

4. Very dark ain’t bad:

Dark colours are never out of fashion. Therefore, you can match a trendy faux jacket with the white shirt and black jeans. Lock a choker around your neck. Give your hair a beach-wavy messy look or keep it french braided. And there you go with a beautiful look.

Go out, show up babe!!

Hi guys,

The ‘Behind the Scars’ project continues to grow.  There will soon be a photo shoot in New York. In London, I gave an interview for Channel 4 and I would love to share with you some of the stories and behind the scenes action. The photographer Sophie Mayanne does not alter the photos in post-production.

It was great to be involved in this initiative alongside Kelly Jackson, Deborah James and Michele Elman all of whom appear in the video. Kelly sums up her feelings by saying  ‘I just want to show other people that it is not something to be ashamed of or embarrassed by.’

As Michele said ‘I would love to see a scarred princess,’ as scars are normally associated with villains.  Thanks to Sophie  for such an exciting initiative…’scarred not scared.’

You can follow all of us on Instagram: Deborah James (@bowelbabe), Michele Elman (@scarrednotscared), Kelly Jackson (@kellys_smile), Sophie Mayanne (@sophiemayanne & @behindthescars_) & Samanta Bullock (@samabullock).

If you had a scar would you consider to take pictures like these?

Four Different Hats to Give you Four Different Looks

Four Different Hats to Give you Four Different Looks

When it comes to beauty, the majority of people will tell you that hair is a significant component. So, you could assume that wearing a hat would hinder your overall look. But, in actual fact, something that covers your head can actually enhance your appearance, as well as serve more practical purposes. Nowadays, there is an endless variety of hats to choose from, so you’re bound to find one that suits you, no matter how introvert or extrovert your style is.

However, today I’m going to focus on providing you with four different hats to give you four different looks. They’re all going to be extremely popular pieces of headwear, and all of them could look amazing depending on the scenario. Anyway, here they are…

Fedora

Fedora

The wonderful thing about a fedora is the fact that it’s incredibly versatile. All you have to do is alter your clothing and footwear, and a fedora could look gorgeous in spring, summer, autumn or winter. For instance, if you harmonized one with a trench coat, jeans, and a jumper, it would work brilliantly in the lower temperatures. But, if you used one to top off a maxi dress and some sandals, you’d be well dressed for when the sun comes out.

Cadet Cap

Cadet Cap

I personally feel that when cadet caps are involved, it ultimately comes down to the hairstyle that you provide as to what look you’ll achieve. So, if you have long hair like me, then you could let it flow behind the ears. But, if you have shorter hair, then why not frizz it up and go for the covered-ears look?

However, it also depends on the weather, like with any hat. If you cover the ears and go for a large coat and some well-fitted jeans, then it would go nicely in the winter or spring. Alternatively, a light top and a skater skirt would work stylishly in the summer.

Beanie Hat

Beanie

When it comes to those bitterly cold winter months, beanies are going to be the perfect option. Now, although you’re mainly going to be worrying about keeping your head warm, they can also complement the rest of your attire. I personally love the cashmere beanies from Everlane or Uniqlo. But, I also appreciate the stylish qualities that those colorful knitted ones or those with pom-poms can offer.

There are a few different ways to wear a beanie, but for women, I love the idea of pulling it partially over the ears and forehead and letting the hair flow freely out of it. This way, you can combine both style and functionality.

Flat Cap

Flat Cap

With the flat cap, you can be flexible with what you’re trying to go for. By this I mean, if you want to match it with your professional attire, then you could keep the cap forward and straight like you can see above. But, if you want to follow the trends and amp up your style at the weekend, then implement a slight tilt. For women, that’s usually to the left, but try to go with what direction your hair is naturally flowing.

I hope you’ve found this article useful, it would be great to know which hat you like most. Please leave a comment below!
