5 of the Best Ways to Keep Your Skin Glowing

5 of the Best Ways to Keep Your Skin Glowing

The appearance of your skin is a huge factor when it comes to your overall appearance. Now, some people are blessed with genetically perfect skin, which stays clear all year round. However, others, like myself, need to do a little bit of maintenance to ensure the skin remains vibrant and healthy.

But, you don’t need to spend a substantial amount of money on expensive skincare products. I’ve been utilizing a few different methods for an extensive period of time, and they’re not only financially-friendly, but they’re also extremely effective. Here are 5 of the best…

  1. Thermal Water

I use this all the time, and that’s because it comes with a multitude of different benefits. Thermal water is essentially a variant of mineral water, and it is extracted from deep within the earth. Due to this, it is full of great minerals and CO2, and low in pollution and bacteria. These will soften the skin, reduce any inflammation and prevent any dryness.

Best Skin

Vitacid Plus

This one does need to be prescribed by a dermatologist, but that’s because it is a type of medicine that performs so well when it comes to the skin. It contributes heavily to the production of collagen, which subsequently lightens the skin, smooths any redness and gives it a radiating shine.

Sun Screen

When the temperatures rise, and the sun comes out, it is crucial that you apply plenty of sunscreen to places that are going to be exposed to the rays. Not only will this reduce your chances of developing skin cancer, the moisturizer within the screen will keep your skin glowing. Plus, it will prevent sunburn, so your skin won’t dry up, become sore and crack.

4. Water

It is no secret that healthy, soft and beautiful skin is a result of it being well hydrated. That’s why drinking a lot of water every day is so advantageous; it will keep the skin hydrated and fight off any toxins. If you balance out the pH levels with a pinch of sodium, then this will further assist with maintaining superb skin. I aim for 1 liters of water every single day!

  1. Skinade

This is a collagen drink that I absolutely love. It has been developed by scientists, and every ingredient is designed to help give your skin a gorgeous glow. Along with being full of active items that speed up the production of hyaluronic acid and collagen within your body, it also tastes delicious.

Extra Tip: For those of you that wear makeup, try removing it using natural coconut oil, rather than the typical chemical-based products. This will allow your skin to remain healthy, and will also help you with hands as you apply it to your face.

Why Fashion is So Wonderful at Creating Inclusion

Why Fashion is So Wonderful at Creating Inclusion

There is a common misconception amongst the general public that the fashion industry is full of stereotypes, social stigmas, and ostracism. Now, while it could certainly improve on all of those, fashion is definitely much better than it is made out to be. In fact, it can actually have a hugely positive impact on society, as the universal love of beautiful clothing, applying makeup and styling hair can bring people together.

Take a look at my Interview for London Fashion Week Scout

This is especially the case for minority groups, and as a woman in a wheelchair myself, I know how included fashion can make you feel. Life can often be difficult for disabled people; some people simply don’t know how to approach someone in a wheelchair, and that can become quite challenging. So, the fact that fashion gives everyone, regardless of disability, ethnicity or gender, the chance to feel valued, is amazing.

Although, some people will still disagree and wonder how exactly fashion creates such inclusion. Well, that’s why I’ve put together a short list, to show that fashion is more than just a focus on appearance!

Boost Self – Love and Confidence

One of the most obvious ways that it helps is through the enhancement of self-love, and the increase in confidence. If you’re happy with what you see in the mirror, then you’re going to feel great about yourself. Once you acquire that sense of self-love, you won’t fear to talk to new people anymore, and that’s when you’ll realise that ninety-nine percent of people are open to getting to know you.

Gives You a Reason to Socialise

If you love dressing up, getting your make up on, or styling your hair, then it just gives you that extra motivation to go out and showcase all of that. Therefore, if you keep socialising, and getting out the house, you’ll feel included more and more, and won’t feel like you’re isolated at home.

It’s Empowering

The fact that you can express your personality through the style of clothing that you choose, or the appearance that you go for, is very empowering. It highlights that every human-being is different, and that’s why the world is such a special place. The moment you feel so included, is when you recognise that everyone is in the same position, and we’re all just trying to display originality through our fashion choices.

Feel Comfortable with What You’re Wearing

Fashion is one of those things that truly gives you the opportunity to feel comfortable in your clothes, no matter who you are. Typically, being in a wheelchair is a struggle when it comes to comfortable clothing. For instance, jeans often limit mobility and hurt due to the hard materials. So, being able to find fashionable clothes that fit well, and allow you to feel comfortable, is a real empowerment.

Creates Healthy Discussions

One of the ways that people don’t see fashion as positive, is the way that it always creates discussions. No matter who you are, you could easily chat to someone about the latest fashion trend, or the newest piece of clothing that is dividing opinion. You see, that’s a great thing, as it means no-one is excluded from conversations, as we can all have our opinion on fashion.

  • MY ACHIEVEMENTS MAKE ME FEEL OPTIMISTIC FOR MY FUTURE

Before my injury, I was a model and very active, playing handball and tennis. Since my accident, I have worked in politics, played tennis at the highest level, and performed in the 2012 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony among many other achievements. I can now look back proudly at what I have already achieved since my accident and have every reason to feel optimistic about the future. I love to travel, going to watch live music, visit family and friends and be as active as possible. I go to the cinema, enjoy eating out and exploring different restaurants and cuisines. I am on the books of Visable, an agency that specializes in the placement of disabled artists: http://visablepeople.com.

4 ways to wear black & white

Black jeans and white shirts never lose their appeal and with the correct set of accessories and a perfect combination of supremely comfortable shoes will make you look great.  Here we have brought you ideas for you to add variety to the basic look…..

1.You can never overdo with red:

That is exactly right. Your white shirt and black jeans can be paired with an exotic bright red coat. Red makes a perfect combination of both white and black. Supremely comfortable Edgy moto boots and a silver necklace will do the rest. A chic bun or a low bun with small earrings will complete the look.

2. Printed scarves are always an option:

Scarf

Wrap a nice warm cotton, silk or quilt knitted scarf around your neck over your white shirt and black jeans. Make sure you choose some bright colour to add spring look to your overall outfit. You can accessorize it with drop earrings whereas for footwear you can opt for dressy boots, riding boots or ankle boots to go with the look. Wear a hat and set all on fire!

3. Keep it dim:
Yes like that. Put on a puffer jacket over your white shirt and black jeans. Tie your hair in a high-and-sleek ponytail or messy-and-low ponytail. Put on riding boots and to add up a bit has small studs. That is it.  Hola! Look at you!

4. Very dark ain’t bad:

Dark colours are never out of fashion. Therefore, you can match a trendy faux jacket with the white shirt and black jeans. Lock a choker around your neck. Give your hair a beach-wavy messy look or keep it french braided. And there you go with a beautiful look.

Go out, show up babe!!
