I am taking part in a project called “Driving Inspiration”. It is a project about the legacy of the games and we are visiting many schools giving a few talks.
If you would like to know a little more about this project, please visit the website below
I had lots of fun visiting a school recently, Cressex Community School in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
I shared my experience of being in a wheelchair and how disabled life generally was for me.
We talked about the different types of chair and how some allow you to play sports and stay active.
We discussed about wheelchair tennis, and how different chairs are made for different sports.
I brought my own tennis chair with me so the kids could try it out for themselves and make their own opinion about what it feels like to move around in a chair.

Hey, Samanta! I really enjoyed your visit to Cressex Community School on Monday 18th June. You were very Inspiring and taught me that being disabled does not stop you from doing things and living a ‘normal’ life.I really enjoyed listening to the story of your life and having the opportunity of having a go on your tennis wheel chair and play tennis against eachother.
Once again, Thankyou for using your time to visit us, Lots of Love,
Hi Samanta, I was glad to meet you yesterday (Monday 18th June) when you came into my school, Cressex Community School. What you said was inspirational and I am glad for you that you did not give up playing tennnis even though you were in a wheelchair :). It was fun playing tennis with you in your tennis wheelchair! Expect a friend request from me on Facebook in the next few days 😛
Love from Daisy x
I think that Samanta is the most amazing person I have ever met and to have come from being able bodied to paralysed is such an mental task to get over and it looks like that Samanta has done that very well. When she came to my school for the Paralympic project I was stunned how she is confident about her condition and she has given me an insight to what it is to be disabled and wheelchair tennis. I hope that you have the chance to come back to our school. Hopefully see you soon
Aren’t they cute??
I only would like to say, it was my pleasure to meet you guys and hope we can keep in contact.
Thanks for this wonderful experience. 🙂
Loads of love
