Adversity Is There To Overcome – Never Give Up

As someone that is frequently in front of a camera with a beaming smile, most people would assume that I’m happy 24/7. But, let me tell you, my life is far from perfect. No-one’s is. A smile in a picture can hide everything that is actually going on in your life, and how you portray yourself on Instagram doesn’t reflect the day-to-day.

You see, being disabled throws up a plethora of challenges. Chronic pain is a daily occurrence and some days are a lot harder than others. However, just because my life isn’t perfect, it doesn’t mean I don’t pretend like it is. The key to being happy is making the most out of life, regardless of the situation that you’re in.

That’s why despite all of the pain, discomfort and difficulty, I always remain optimistic. The beauty of adversity is that you have a unique opportunity to learn and grow. You’ll evolve as you gain new experience.

When the pain comes

You can obtain an endless supply of happiness from within, you don’t need to rely on external sources and materialistic things.

We’re always in a position to smile and have fun, and there’s always hope that things can get better. Never, ever let difficult situations consume you, because the light at the end of the tunnel may be just around the corner. Living with chronic pain is far from easy, but my mind is in a healthy place which is why I’m content.

Of course, we can only do our best. Bad days are inevitable. But, positivity and optimism are a far better option than choosing self-pity and negativity. So, think about how you deal with tough scenarios…

I tend to value and appreciate everything that I do have, rather than worrying about all the things that I don’t have. I source inspiration from all those that encourage and support me. I distract my mind with an amazing idea, rather than dwelling on the negative. I refuse to let disability and chronic pain define who I am.

Life is a blessing, so I urge you to remain optimistic and do all you can to take pleasure in all the wonderful things that you currently have. Look at the bigger picture and never give up.

Raw Fest 26-29 July

The raw fest is back this year. If you are wondering what it is, its a 3-day immersion in a sustainable world. Vegan food, talks, camping, fireplace, stalls, kids area, and much more.

I have been for 3 years now.
The Raw Fest is back.
When I became vegetarian I felt the need to meet new people and a structure that I could understand a little bit more about myself and learn new things. I found the raw fest and went for it.
It was a delightful surprise to meet such nice people, and have a great time.

Acroyoga X Wheelchair User

I tried acro yoga and I have a video on that in case you are wondering how a wheelchair user could do this. They have a nice vegan and raw vegan food.

This year it will take place from 26th -29th July in Ascot. We will be camping there. I will leave the link below in case you like to come and join us for this wonderful and sustainable 3 days.
There is music, fire, stalls, kids area, activities, talks, massages and much more. No alcohol and cigarettes are permitted.
Take time for yourself and come to this wonderful detox weekend with us.
I hope we can enjoy it together.

Sailing for Wheelchair Users – A New Experience for me

Sailing

Hello guys.

How are you doing? A few weeks ago I tried a new sport. I filmed it all so you could understand how I did it.

It was challenging to go on the water and transfer to the boat. They have volunteers to assist and they make your life much easier. I have friends from tennis that invite me all the time but it was through Fiona G that sent a message to my husband on Linkedin and made us very interested.

It is an open session that takes place every Thursday at Queens Mary Sailability here in London. I didn’t know they had that facility. What a great place.

Please take a look at the video and let me know if you have any questions or comments.
