Just saw an article in Elle magazine, and I would like to share with you the lines that caught my attention.
…”And yet we’re in a moment where fashion is celebrating individuality and having open conversations about racial diversity and gender fluidity. Those discussions are reflected in the casting. Trans model Hari Nef walked the Gucci runway in a show-stopping all red look. Creative Director Alessandro Michele also handed the reigns of the brand’s Snapchat to her so she could record her fashion week adventures.”…
YES! The changing is happening. New designers are coming, with innovation and a totally different set mind.
And here is the point: … “So are times changing? Slowly. An AW16 diversity report from theukfashionspot.co.uk notes that less than a quarter of all the models who walked this season were people of colour. That means that in all four cities combined, 75.25% of the models cast were white…”
As you can see we are still talking about colours, what to say about plus-sized and disabled ?? Yes, things are changing slowly but we need more.
My question is: – What do you suggest for us to make this change and integrate more diversity and equality in the fashion industry?? All comments are welcome.

The fashion industry, despite its recent strides in diversity, isn’t known for its accessibility. There are very few brands who go out of their way to accommodate disabled people or those with limited mobility. In fact, it can be difficult to get into many pairs of jeans even when you’re able-bodied.
So it’s a real punch in the air that Tommy Hilfiger has just launched a collection specifically designed for disabled adults. It’s not their first foray into adaptive fashion – they launched a line for kids back in 2016. But this is their first time doing a sportswear line based off pieces from Tommy Hilfiger collections. We’re talking adjusted seams and openings.

“Go to Google Images right now,” says photographer Mihaela Noroc, “and search ‘beautiful women’.”
I do as she tells me. Millions of results come back.
“What do you see?” she asks. “Very sexualised images, right?”
Yes. Many of the women in the top pictures are wearing high heels and revealing clothes, and most fit into the same physical mould – young, slim, blonde, perfect skin.
“So beauty all the time is like that,” Mihaela says. “Objectifying women, treating them in a very sexualised way, which is unfortunate.
“Women are not like that. We have our stories, our struggles, our power, but we just need to be represented, because of young women, they see only images like this every day, so they need to have more confidence that they can look the way they look and be considered beautiful.
“But,” she adds, “Google is us, because we are all influencing these images.”
Mihaela has just released her first photography book, Atlas of Beauty, which features 500 of her own portraits of women.
